Sports and Recreation

Sport and Recreation is responsible for the promotion, development and delivery of amateur sport, recreation and physical activity opportunities for all Nunavummiut through its head office in Baker Lake, and additional staff located in Kugluktuk, and Iqaluit.

The Sport and Recreation Division’s clients include municipal corporations and non-profit organizations with a mandate to enhance sport and recreation activities in Nunavut communities. The Sport and Recreation division also coordinates Team Nunavut’s participation in multi-sport games such as the Arctic Winter Games, Canada Games, Western Canada Summer Games and the North American Indigenous Games.
